ロシア政府によるウクライナ侵攻に関する声明
　わたくしたち北星学園は、主イエス・キリストから「平和を実現する(マタイ福音書5章9節)」使命を信託された学園であり、「最も小さい者の1人にしなかったのは、わたしにしてくれなかったのである(同25 章 45 節)」という個人の尊厳の尊重と、「剣を取る者は皆、剣で滅びる(同26章52節)」という教えに従い、ロシア政府によるウクライナへの侵攻と尊い人命への非人道的殺傷事犯、核使用の威嚇、情報統制に強く抗議し直ちに停止し撤退するよう求めます。
わたしたちは、ウクライナの人々、避難民、両国の兵士を含め、すべての犠牲者に心を深く痛め、ロシア政府が、国際連合安全保障理事会の常任理事国として、国際連合憲章第55条に定める「人民の同権及び自決の原則の尊重に基礎をおく諸国間の平和的且つ友好的関係に必要な安定及び福祉の条件を創造する」目的に則し、即時に侵攻、報道規制と情報統制を止めない場合には、常任理事国の資格を失う解任を強く求めます。
ウクライナの人々への全人的な支援、生徒・学生・教職員の教育の早い復帰、そして何よりも、幼い子ども達の笑顔満ちるウクライナが一日も早く回復しますよう、世界平和の実現を希求する皆様と心を合わせ祈ります。

A Statement Regarding the Invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Government
　We at Hokusei Gakuen have been entrusted by the Lord Jesus Christ with the mission of being “peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9) and following the teachings: (a) “Whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me” (Matthew 25:45) to respect the dignity of individuals and (b) “All who draw the sword will die by the sword” (Matthew 26:52). We strongly object to the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian government and its inhumane, criminal taking of precious human lives, threatening the use of nuclear weapons, and censoring of the media. We demand an immediate cessation of hostilities and withdrawal of forces.

　Our hearts are deeply grieved, including for the Ukrainians, refugees, military personnel of both countries, and all the victims of this tragedy. We insist in the strongest terms that, as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, the Russian government be faithful to the purpose of Article 55 of the United Nations Charter: “the creation of conditions of stability and well-being which are necessary for peaceful and friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples.” If it does not immediately cease the invasion, interference with reporting, and censoring of the media, we insist on its disqualification and removal from the position on the Security Council.

　We join our hearts with all who hope for world peace to be made and pray that (a) holistic support for the Ukrainian people will be provided, (b) students, teachers, and educational staff will be able to return speedily to their work, and (c) more than anything, Ukraine will once again be a nation where the smiling faces of small children are seen everywhere.
